The mild weather a well groomed loop and two energetic teams made for a very successful Kid’s Free Sled Rides Event

We want to thank Tom Bauer of the Otter River Sled Dog Training Center and Wilderness Adventures for providing free kid’s sled dog rides at Agassiz Park! 

Tom was assisted by members of the Mushing Club at Michigan Tech.

Our own CopperDog volunteers were out in force including Krissy and Ernie Tepsa (setup, organizing the event, getting the kids into and out of the sleds), Tony Shepeard (trail grooming, photography  (see below)), Kelly Probst, Doug King (who worked the concession stand), Denny McKaig (DJ for music),  Doug Harrer, Kiko, Beth King, Jon Koskiniemi.

The course was busy the entire time. Kid’s enjoyed the hot dogs and the hot cocoa provided by our sponsors. Parents also warmed up with coffee and hot cocoa as well.
